 MCEC Stage

Aussiecon 4 will be held at the new Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC). The MCEC is located in the heart of Melbourne. Download a map of the city showing our convention venue.

Getting to the MCEC

The Aussiecon 4 venue is within easy walking distance of the city’s world-class public transport system. Trains, trams, buses, and ferries all stop nearby. The venue also has plenty of car parking space. You can download directions to the MCEC.

The Venue

MCEC foyer The brand new MCEC is the largest convention and exhibition centre in the Southern Hemisphere. The venue has a 6 Star Green Star environmental rating, the highest rating under the Australian Green Building Council’s rating system. The MCEC is non-smoking (and no one has ever smoked in it!)

The opening of the MCEC in 2009 went hand in hand with a significant urban renewal project along the south bank of Melbourne’s Yarra River. Aussiecon 4 members will benefit from this development activity, with ready access to many new cafes, restaurants, and shops, wide riverside promenades, cycling paths, public art, and newly opened historical sites.
